By utilizing a dynamic milling pattern for every head shape, SOFT normalizes ball speed across the striking area. And more consistent speed ensures more consistent, predictable distance, no matter where you strike the ball. With SOFT, densely grouped groove lines in the center of the face gradually expand out toward the heel and toe, balancing the energy transfer across the striking area. But it doesn’t just stop there. Each HB SOFT 2 model gets a distinct groove pattern optimally aligned with its head shape’s Center of Gravity, MOI, and weighting profile. Some other Putter makers do feature milling patterns that normalize distance on miss-hits, yet they put the same face pattern on every Putter shape they make. To keep distances consistent no matter which head shape you choose, our engineers measure the CG and MOI properties of every model and adjust the face milling pattern accordingly.
Each HB SOFT 2 Putter has a consistent, ideal swing feel—model to model—no matter which shaft length you choose. While other engineering teams base their swing feel builds off a single “standard” length, our Cleveland Golf team carefully analyzed every HB SOFT 2 Putter shape at each shaft length available, then used a counterbalance weight to perfect both standard lengths.
